Nicki Minaj Makes HERstory – “Super Freaky Girl” debuts at #1

Written by on August 22, 2022

Congrats to Nicki Minaj for making HERstory (History)!

Nicki Minaj’s new song “Super Freaky Girl” debuted at #1, becoming the first song by a Female solo rapper since Lauryn Hill did it with “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1988! Unique made it his 4/20 Joint of the Day in celebration.

In the 64-year history of the Billboard Charts, this is the 63rd song to debut at #1. It’s Minaj’s third #1 hit and second #1 debut; her other #1 hits were in 2020 with the 6ix9ine collaboration “Trollz” and as a cameo on Doja Cat’s remix of “Say So.”

It’s a good day for the Barbz and a good day for making HERstory.
