Get Ready For The Juneteenth Music Festival!

Written by on May 1, 2025

THE DROP 104.7 is thrilled to announce its co-presentership of Denver’s 2025 Juneteenth Music Festival, joining forces with the JMF Corporation to keep this vital celebration alive. As corporate sponsors withdrew support, threatening the festival’s future, THE DROP and its parent organization, Rocky Mountain Public Media (RMPM), stepped in with a financial investment to secure and sponsor the main stage performance, headlined by Juvenile. Hip-hop would not be the same without Juvenile, a New Orleans legend who revolutionized the genre with his Louisiana bounce sound and influenced generations of artists. Juvenile continues to innovate, inspire new artists, and create music that resonates globally, leaving a lasting mark on hip-hop culture.

The festival will now proceed as a one-day extravaganza on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood. By shifting focus from its annual Block Party to co-presenting Juneteenth, THE DROP reaffirms its commitment to uplifting Black culture, music, and community.

“Since June of 2021, THE DROP 104.7 presented our Block Party: a free annual concert featuring world-class artists. This year, we were excited by the prospect of not only continuing to present music to our community, but by the honor of helping to support the Juneteenth Music Festival, a treasured institution in our community,” said Ayana Contreras, Vice President of Radio for Rocky Mountain Public Media.
“We are incredibly thankful to THE DROP 104.7 and Rocky Mountain Public Media for their pivotal support at such a crucial time. Their contribution does more than sponsor a stage—it preserves the spirit of Juneteenth in Denver. In a year marked by sponsorship challenges, their commitment sends a powerful message: our community’s history, culture, and future are worth investing in,” said Norman Harris, President of JMF Corporation.

Both organizations are deeply rooted in Five Points and share a passion for grassroots initiatives that uplift voices, nurture creativity, and preserve history. This collaboration is a natural extension of their missions—supporting the enduring legacy of Juneteenth while building stronger platforms for the next generation of artists, storytellers, and community leaders.
