Arrested Development, founded by Speech and Headliner as a positive, Afrocentric alternative to the gangsta rap popular in the early 1990s, has been a prominent voice in the music industry for over three decades. Their debut album, ‘3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of…’, was a critical and commercial success, featuring hits like “Tennessee,” “People Everyday,” and “Mr. Wendal,” which have since become classics in the hip-hop genre.
The group’s unique blend of funk, soul, and blues, combined with insightful social commentary, has earned them numerous accolades, including two Grammy Awards. Arrested Development has continued to produce music that inspires and uplifts, staying true to their original mission of creating thought-provoking, positive rap music.
